About Oxford Healthcare

Oxford Health Care and Oxford Services were founded in 1967 by Bob Sobel. Oxford is unique – the company is still owned by the founder, who is involved in the daily operations of the business.

Bob was a pioneer in the health care industry seeing a need for assisted living in the home over 44 years ago. Oxford is the oldest health care company in southern California. Oxford has offices located in Long Beach, Torrance and Santa Ana to serve clients in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Oxford’s standards of excellence provide the best care possible to infants, children, adults and seniors who need medical or non-medical care in the comfort and safety of their home. Oxford nurses and caregivers understand the special needs of the clients and take a personal interest in helping to improve the quality of their lives. The owner’s business philosophy is to provide the best care possible to those in need of home care while giving total respect to the care givers and staff.

Bob has always had a close connection to his community and has shown great concern and compassion for people in need. He has been a member of the Downtown Long Beach Lions Club since 1975 which is a service organization whose mission is to serve with emphasis on sight conservation and preventing blindness. Bob has been the club’s official “Santa Clause” for over 34 years bringing holiday cheer to generations of children and adults.

Bob is a member of the local American Red Cross serving on the Volunteer Committee and Hometown Heroes Committee. Bob is an active disaster volunteer and has helped on numerous national disaster operations. Bob volunteers at the annual golf tournament, the senior flu clinics and at the youth leadership development center.

Oxford’s high standards start with Bob Sobel’s leadership and he ensures that every client and employee is treated with courtesy and respect. Experience guarantees you are receiving the best care possible.
